Local Dancers SHINE at Dance Nationals
Dancers from local Moorpark studio, Pam Rossi’s Dance Ten, attended the Move National Finals in Palm Springs, CA and came home with numerous awards including two National Championships. Elizabeth Sutton,16, was awarded Top Senior Soloist with her dance “The Chain” choreographed by Michael Williams. Deanna Okada, 18, Elizabeth Sutton, 16, and Emily Sutton,14, swept the Senior Duo/Trio division with their dance number, “Heavy in Your Arms”, choreographed by Shannon Pape.
Four group numbers were amongst the elite top groups and asked to compete again in the final dance off competition. Competing in the Petite 8 & under division was “Move” choreographed by Rachel DuBusky. “My Song” choreographed by Val Manchin represented the Teen 12-14 division and Senior 15 & over division had the Small Group “Come Together” choreographed by Rachel DuBusky and Large Group “Journey” choreographed by Michael Williams. All four group numbers came home with prize monies for their efforts.
